Handmade Persian Carpet

This handmade Persian carpet is known as Kashan, that refers to its pattern and the area where it is made. Kashan is an ancient city in the central part of Iran, about 240k south of Tehran. Kashan has achieved a very good reputation to produce fine quality hand-knotted carpets and rugs for over centuries. Copy of Kashan designs is produced in India, China and Pakistan and is much cheaper than original Kashan.

This rug is made of pure fine wool pile and cotton weft. It is classic medallion design.
