This beautiful hand-knotted Persian rug is known as Mazlekan (Mazlaghan), named after the town where it is traditionally woven in western Iran, near the Hamadan region. Rugs from this area are admired for their distinctive tribal character, vibrant colours, and strong craftsmanship.

This rug is made with a pure wool pile on a cotton foundation (weft), a traditional combination that provides both softness and strength while ensuring the rug remains hardwearing and resilient over time.
